How to read this chart
Filled keys and holes are pressed or covered. Open ones stay up.
The thumb hole and register key are drawn to the left of the first finger. The dashed line separates the left hand (top) from the right hand (bottom).
The four small keys at the lower left are the left pinky keys. The four at the bottom right are the right pinky keys. The numbered keys on the right are the side keys, 1 at the top.
Which notes come first
Beginners usually start in the low register and work up to the C in the third space. Notes marked Advanced are the altissimo register, above the staff.
